A 25 pen case

Recommended Posts

I just got this slightly used 24 slot leather pen case by Levenger, no longer in production.

It's dimensions are 10.5 x 7 x 1 3/8 inches. It has 2 dimensions of a Monarch sheet, so it's pretty compact and easily fits into a brief case or knapsack.

The top row has 11 slots for wider pens and the bottom row has 14 slots for pens of average girth. The sides of each slot are slightly adjustable.

The interior is a black finished leather.

The case closes with two magnetic clasps.

When open the flap stays open, and the case stands by itself.

I know it also came in tan and possibly another color.

It has nicely textured surface that looks like a weave pattern.

I like the design and the fit and finish is excellent.

Wow, that is **really** nice! Wish I had come across something like that when I was looking for a pen case. Ended up going to the local discount store where I found an inexpensive leather case (one large compartment & two smaller that I use for pen cartridges & refills).

Thank you Kcat and Paul,

In the course of researching this case, I learned from a Levenger rep that the case was discontinued, not because there was anything wrong with it, but because it was not selling well enough for them. It retailed for $90, and a used one can be had for much less.

The nearest thing I've found new is a gorgeous leather 24 slot Visconti case for mid $200s.

Regards,

Jeen

I think a lot of Levenger's items are overpriced, but that is a topic for another thread.

Good luck Heidi! I'd never seen one like that before, pity, because I might have considered buying one from Levenger at full price. Seems like a great idea, vertical portable storage that doesn't take up too much room but holds 25 pens. Excellent idea. B)

 well, i was outbid for HIGHER than the "buy it now" price... After I bid on it, the seller took down the "buy it now" option (it was only $5 more than the starting price, so I thought I might as well try). Interesting, eh? <_<

I think the buy-it-now option disappears automatically after the first bid.

Yes that is standard ebay. When an item is offered with a BIN (Buy It Now) Option you can also have a lower bid price. You can also have a reserve price on it as well example:

BIN Price $100.00

Reserve Price $75.00

Opening bid $50.00

You can bid $51.00 and the BIN will still be active. Once the reserve is met the BIN price is gone. Or if there was no reserve then after the first bid the BIN is gone.

You may want to search to see if the seller has other similar items. If they do then you may want to watch that seller to see if they post something similar in the future. Knowing what you know about the history of the item, you can decide if you want to BIN for a few dollars more.

Heidi:

You can use email through ebay, then go to the dispute console. They also have more information available that they will release as part of the process. Here is a web address to buyer protection information:

Good luck.

Hey guys, mine FINALLY came in the post - I didn't report to e-bay but sent polite inquiring/begging/pleading e-mails for a while, and it came - a few months late, but it's a beauty. future e-bay buyers beware the wait...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
