Second best news I've heard all day. Does this mean that I'll be able to order the first two inks as well? (hope, hope, hope)

I would like to order 3 bottles and two manuscript brown through the other link. Can you give another water test? I saw the other test you did. It seemed like black remained. Is this ink the same type as what pendemonium calls Near-Bulletproof?

Yes, you can order the other inks as well. All are available.

What kind of other water test? I don't know how it showed up on the monitor, but in person it looks to me like a dark purple that remained, kind of like the Tulipe Noire. Or do you mean for the Manuscript Brown? That ink is bulletproof. The other two are standard inks and if they have any water resistance, it's a bonus.

Terrific news, Elaine. I've been anxiously awaiting the blue so I could have you send all together the Manuscript Brown and the Tulipe Noire you're holding for me. When can we officially order the blue (I want two bottles) and how do I go about getting an invoice for all 3 colors?

Many thanks!

I am hoping someone will soon have the opportunity to compare this ink to Noodler's Midnight Blue, to see whether it is actually discernibly different :)

I really want to give some applause to both Elaine and NeoTiger for their work on this. (I'll be ordering mine tomorrow; I need to decide how many bottles first.)

I have to ask a really stupid question that I don't think has been answered...

Is this a "bulletproof" or permanent ink?

I think I found my answer on the ordering page... it looks like the brown is the only one that is permanent.

Hooray, thanks everyone! Glad it's finally over. And now I can get my Tulipe Noir, too!

How delicious. Thanks so much for all the work behind the scenes that none of us will ever fully know about in bringing these three custom inks to our membership! 3 bottles ordered just now!

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
