FPN shirts @ cafepress store, No pocket !

I was looking at the products at the fpn cafepress store; some neat shirts and other ephemera with fpn logo.

This is a small way to support fpn and also flaunt the hobby while out and about. http://www.cafepress.com/fpnetwork

However the shirts (T-shirt, golf shirt, short and long sleeve) are all pocketless and nowhere to keep the pens. That's a problem. Clipping the pen to neckline of the shirt is not really a viable option, pens can become detached. Happened to me.

Is there a way that the cafepress people can offer a shirt with pocket for couple of extra bux if necessary.

I want to order and some other stuff as well but checking in about the pocket status......

Best

Oh dear,

I went on the the CafePress site with a view to buying something. Why not support FPN? I thought. Put something back.

But oh dear. I really do not want YET ANOTHER tee shirt, YET ANOTHER fridge magnet, YET ANOTHER coffee mug, or YET ANOTHER mouse mat.

Might it not be an idea to offer some pen pouches, pen cases, rocker blotters and things of that sort? Things that we as FP users actually use and would be happy to buy from a source that supported FPN, even if the articles cost us a little more?

I support a fair number of organizations in a small way, but I have to say that I'm starting to suffer severe tee-shirt, fridge-magnet, and coffee-mug fatigue.

We don't have much control over Cafe Press, and we don't make money from it. (Not with our sales volume) I love my FPN mug, but I often forget that we even have a Cafe Press shop! I was working on making the label of FPN Galileo Manuscript Brown available on products as well, and totally forgot about it!!

We can only choose to have our design on the products they list, and sadly they don't offer a t-shirt with pockets!

Nor do they offer pen pouches, pen cases, rocker blotters and things of that sort :crybaby:

We didn't add the journal or paper products because we don't know how well they work with fountain pens. Perhaps we could test it out?

What a super idea! I'm going to purchase a rocker blotter soon, this would have been perfect. Maybe something to think about for the future.

JELL-O, IT'S WHATS FOR DINNER!

A journal would be a good idea wouldn't it?

Yes. Exactly the sort of thing I mean. And decent stationery and envelopes, perhaps with an FPN watermark or small logo. I think there could be a lot more mileage in this than fridge magnets etc..

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
