Where's the Starry Night blue? I'd rather wait until it's up so I don't have to pay shipping for two separate bottles. Is there any idea when those might begin production?

How many of the Tulipe Noire are being produced?

Answer to blue ink question:

We're still discussing things with Nathan. We don't know yet, IOW.

Tulipe Noire:

Probably two boxes full, IOW, 288 bottles. However, as with all FPN inks, if we have enough orders to cover initial cost of a full box production run, we can always do another run.

Ordered my two bottles and reminded about the bottle of Galileo I had put on hold. Best friend just told me I should change my handle from Pengrump to Ink-pig. (Just because I currently own 106 bottles of ink.)

Hmmm. I wonder what he would call me, then. Currently slightly ashamed owner of 179 inks, of which 169 in bottles, not counting any doubles... :ninja:

A little confusion seems to have ensued with my order. I emailed to request an invoice for two bottles of Tulipe Noire and one of the Galileo I had held for me. I also indicated that I did not wish to wait for the blue ink about which no decision has been reached by fpnadmin yet. For some reason my invoice was only for the Galileo. Am I missing something?

 No, I was. I sent the invoice before adding the Tulipe Noire. It has been corrected and re-sent. If it makes you feel any better, the original invoice charged you shipping for all 3 bottles ;)

I thought I missed something that I was supposed to do since I've never ordered FPN ink before. All is well though. And I'm on my way out the door with addressed stamped envelope containing check and copy of invoice. Thanks again!

Ordered one bottle. Can't wait!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
