Manu Propria - New Start making nibs

For some time now, I have been working on making my ownand now I have found the solution.
Instead of Gold or steel I decided using Beryllium-Copper.
Beryllium copper is an ideal material for nibs. It can be milled into shape when hard.
It is then soft annealed at 300ºC and easily pressed into shape.
It is then heated to 900-1000ºC and quenched in cold water to reach its hardness and flexibility.
The same goes for Titanium Grade 2

Thee nibs I will start making soon will be #8, #9 and #10 with Ebonite feeds

You can download a pdf to learn about the production process

Best regards,

Martin

Nice idea. Congratulations.

What do you plan, EF, F, M, B or others?

Just to mention it, Copper-Beryllium is often used for parts which have high stress - like clips.
