Editing Profile didn't work for me at first. I'm Mika and I'd thought I'd redo my PioraWieczneForum.pl today 🏳️‍⚧️

Hi, I'm Mika from Poland.

I thought I would be redoing(🏳️‍⚧️ reasons) my old account on PWF🇵🇱 forum today, but the site is, most unexpectedly, gone. I thought I typed the wrong address when I first saw — there has always been so many emails, community pen releases, calendars printed (maybe I misremember that one lol), partnerships with makers… The next option that I immediately recalled in my mind was Fountain Pen Network. Some internet searches tell me that this might even be the last such large forum — the rest of the community is on Facebooks, Slacks, Discords, whatnot corporate overlord premise…

The "Edit Profile" functionality on this forum at first didn't save the contents for me (Edit: okay, now it works, although the About Me is a bit hard to find).

So, as I meant to write as a first paragraph of my bio: After years of absence, I found piorawieczneforum.pl defunct :( https://redlib.catsarch.com/r/fountainpens/comments/1ky4g2o/plpolskie_forum_związane_z_piórami/

I used to collect kilograms of Hero and Wing Sung and knock-offs; now I just carry a Penol Skolepen vintage, a basic Kaweco Sport with now the official converter, and I have some odd set of italic nib screw-on half-bodies in my hobby office.

Signing up because my Skolepen first got loaded with Hero black ink (I've been using Hero inks since I've got my first Herb pens on a visit to a big bulk stationery shop that I specifically once traveled to as a teen), but then with blue Parker Quink, and now I miss the Quink thick line after I sucked up Pelikan Brilliant Red ink into it. And so, moments after the few button presses on my Penol Skolepen, I got sucked into intending to seek ink reviews again.

Welcome to the community @MikaPL you’ll find lots of help here. Plus learn of pens, inks, and notebooks you never knew you needed, but now do.

A great place for ink reviews is Mountain of Ink. It doesn’t have every ink, but a lot of them.

There is also Fountain Pen Pharmacist for ink reviews.

This is where a lot of ink reviews are here

The only problem is some reviews lack photos because they were originally posted from third party photo sites.

There are other ink review websites.

This one is from a member here.

Hi Mika and welcome!

My grandparents on my mother's side were from Poland. I got a chance to visit Warsaw for a conference a little over 25 years ago. I did not get to where my grandparents were from.

Thanks for the info (I only used B&W film and learned to process that).   Boy -- the stuff I learn here!  Just continually astounded at the depth and breadth of knowledge in this community! Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

It just wasn't likely to have been Kodachrome.  It would have been the films I referred to as "other color films." (Kodachrome is not a generic term for color film. It is a specific film that produces transparencies, or slides, by a process not used for any other film. There are other color trans

@Ceilidh -- Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color, not just B&W like I learned to process.  Whether they were doing the processing of the film themselves in one of the darkrooms, or sending their stuff out to be processed commercially?  That I don't actually know, but had always assumed that they were processing their own film. Kodachrome 25 was the most accurate film for clinical photography and was used by dermatologists everywhere. I got magnificent results with a Nikon F2 and a MicroNikkor 60 mm lens, using a manually calibrated small flash on a bracket. I wish there were a filter called "Kodachrome 25 color balance" on my iPhone camera.
