It's Amazing!

Recommended Posts

After living in a very dark place, I awakened and realized that I'd lost a whole year.

I've been trying to piece myself back together again.

I found some small boxes that I had put out in my garage . Inside one, I found a few dozen vintage nib holders, ink wells, bullet pencils, cans of nibs, just all kinds of things! In sorting it all out, I'm sorting myself out as well 😀

It really is amazing!!

Fantastic, it looks like you're going to have fun!

There's a butterscotch bakelite dip pen, a combo dip pen/pencil souvenir from cliff house in San Francisco, and a skinny little travel pen marked Faber NY.

If there's any interest, I'll list more.

I'm interested! And following your adventures into the box of little treasures. Do you have any memories from them yet?

Contemplating where they've been over the years and the people that used them I find very soothing.

I suffer from severe anxiety disorders and my collection of writing instruments calms me like no medication can.

Finding them was like finding long lost friends.

So yes, I remember them all.

They are very cute!

@Zookie Thanks for posting the first batch of photos.  I don't think I've ever seen a writing instrument that's a dip pen at the other end of a pencil.  (And just Friday I got to see some really pretty antique dip pens that are going to be movie props for the film I'm "renting" a couple of vintage ringtop Fps to...).

I just found a dozen fountain pens and lots of cartridges in a bag out in the garage!

I will list them in the fp sub forum along with the dip pens.

Pencils and other things will be listed in the appropriate places😀

This is getting better and better the more I dig!

Woo hoo! :happycloud9: <- that would be me if I found that. These were yours a long time ago and forgotten?

I did find 3 strange fountain pens in a drawer once and still have no idea when I got them. They were advertising pens with folded nibs, very cheaply made things, but fascinating. How could I forget being given something like that... it was lovely to find them after I had more idea of what I was looking at. I now keep them on a pen stand in a display cabinet.

I didn't know that I still had them and was very surprised when they showed up. I thought I'd sent them to the Goodwill. Luckily I hadn't.

As soon as I can, I'll take some pics.

It hardly seems possible but I haven't used a fountain pen for quite some time.

It's time to start writing again.

Hi, Ruth.  Some of your pens in a movie?  That's pretty cool. How did the movie company find you?
