The problem is the cap length in the 140 despite having a long cap for a medium-small pen....was designed for a small nib.

 

My 120/140 (did not fit the 600) /200/400/600 all fit.

I have not tried to fit my 150 and 151 into my larger pens.

My 151 is an Italian Milan made 150, green color like the 120, but with a gold piston ring. It is a thinner pen, but it fit right into my 200, and vice versa.

 

With the 140 vs the 120, one has to be delicate fitting the cap on the 140 with the longer 120's nib. I'd not noticed the 400 having that problem...

I did notice the small 140 nib looks dorky in a 400.

 

A 600 will just fit a 151, but only the cap only screws 3/4ths, not the 1 1/4th of normal. There is no real reason to do such...the '97-now gold nib is only a semi-nail.

The 600 nib did not fit my 140...it was an almost, and I wasn't going to force it. The 140's nib did fit the 600.

 

I had no troubles with doing a 400 and 600, back and forth.

 

I've not tried my Ibis (did not expect a gold semi-flex nib), nor my 100 a CN normal springy regular flex nib....just like my spare CN nib....some folks got lucky with superflex nibs, or 100n (a gold superflex nib...goes 5 X, but I strive to keep it at 4X or lower having read Richard Binder's fine article on metal fatigue.)

I am not sure if I put my 100n's nib in a 400 but would expect it to fit, in the made the Ibis and the 100n, were made to 1954.
