Worst Birthday Ever

Arcadian

Recommended Posts

I spent my 40th Birthday today stuck in the office until past midnight. When I could finally call it a day, I got up to pack by bag and go home. But I fumbled with my pen pouch, and accidentally sent it spinning down. It hit the floor. Hard. When I took the pens out to check them, my Solitaire Vermeil had made it through okay, but my 149 Silver Rings had broken in two from the force of the impact.

Sometimes obscenities are just so woefully inadequate.

How unfortunate. Especially on this meaningful day to you...

Happy birthday! You'll repair your companion in no time, I'm sure.

Regards,

Oh... drats. That's inadequate too. Sorry.

Is there a bright side? Hmmm. Pen in for repair means there's space in the pen pouch for another. A new one. Happy Birthday to you?

Happy Birthday.

Will work for pens...

@Arcadian My heartfelt condolences on your beloved and rare “Silver Rings” 149.  This photograph leaves me absolutely gutted.   What a most terrible birthday gift.  I sincerely hope that some talented vintage pen repair specialist will be able to repair your lovely legendary 149.  Deepest sympathies.

Tragedy!

Hope you can find a correct spare part.

And - for what it's worth - many happy returns.

That is a really terrible birthday; I'm so sorry to hear about it.  I hope you can get your pen repaired, and that your life will contain many more birthdays, all happier than this one!

If this is the worst thing that's happened to you so far (even on or around your birthday), you're a very lucky fellow. Hopefully, nothing sadder or more eventful than breaking a pen will loom in your future.

F-ing bad luck. #%$&

Trying to help with the inadequate cursing.

But as others have said, try and get it repaired. And look at that! @PENRob offered to repair it, which I would think means the beloved pen can be repaired.

Happy 40th birthday, and may you have an even better, delayed birthday celebration when your pen is repaired, and back to you.

that's a sign you have to go and get a new one

it's been ordained and enacted and must be completed

i've rolled my office chair over two MBs over the years, the precious resin was crushed, had to go replace them that week

Well if it's been ordained, I suppose I have no choice 😜

Breaking your Montblanc on your 40th birthday and their 100th is a sign.  Time to start looking at those Origin Collection pens (and repair your broken one).

Maybe branch out into the more exotic MB Limited Editions, like a Carnegie or Klimt.
