I now have a problem…

I don’t have ENOUGH pens or ink! I have finally found a cabinet suitable for pens which I got ridiculously cheap at an estate sale. After lining the drawers with pen trays, each of 5 drawers will hold 96 pens with two drawers for ink or other parts. I’m in heaven….my wife, unfortunately, is not!

nice cabinet, congrats!

But, if I understand well your problem, at 480 pens, the cabinet is too small and you need another equal to it, right?

So, your wife doesn't think the other one will fit in the house? 🙃

Very nice! May I ask what is the pastel pink pen with the silver cap in the centre of the first drawer?

Will work for pens...

That is a custom 51 by Kullock that I bought from Teri at Peyton Street Pens. She has several Kullock creations but not sure about another pink one.

Well, you COULD explain to your wife that at least it's not a full size antique dental cabinet....

This spring I really AM going to try to get the knobs on the drawers and maybe even get the metal parts of the interiors of the drawers treated with Rustoleum....  And then see if I can order a bunch of the flocked plastic pen trays to line the drawers with....  Of course I've been saying that since I bought the thing just as the world was going into COVID lockdown....

You HAVE been talking about fixing that cabinet up forever! Are you familiar with Penn Industries for the trays?

Possibly.  I remember buying a few from some vendor at an early pen show, and it might have been them or was a reseller for them.

Just looked at their website, though, and it seems as if they only have the one color.

That is true on color but I ordered way more than I needed and they are nice ones.

@Carguy I remember you posting about loving color in pens and clothes. Cool to see it in your pens. Thank you for sharing the photos.

I absolutely love a pop of color in everything. I actually bought a bright green wallet today that I am currently enamored with.

Thanks @Carguy for posting your cool storage facility and especially for the info on Penn Industries's trays. I was looking for such trays for a drawer set I have so the pens don't just roll around.

Thanks for the info (I only used B&W film and learned to process that).   Boy -- the stuff I learn here!  Just continually astounded at the depth and breadth of knowledge in this community! Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

      >Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color,<   I'm sure they were, and my answer assumes that. It just wasn't likely to have been Kodachrome.  It would have been the films I referred to as "other color films." (Kodachrome is not a generic term for color film. It is a specific film that produces transparencies, or slides, by a process not used for any other film. There are other color trans

@Ceilidh -- Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color, not just B&W like I learned to process.  Whether they were doing the processing of the film themselves in one of the darkrooms, or sending their stuff out to be processed commercially?  That I don't actually know, but had always assumed that they were processing their own film. Kodachrome 25 was the most accurate film for clinical photography and was used by dermatologists everywhere. I got magnificent results with a Nikon F2 and a MicroNikkor 60 mm lens, using a manually calibrated small flash on a bracket. I wish there were a filter called "Kodachrome 25 color balance" on my iPhone camera.
