I'm not going to bother with a picture, since my pens are quite common, but my daily writers are a TWSBI ECO-T Blue EF for most writing, and a TWSBI ECO Transparent Blue 1.1 mm stub italic for signatures and cheque writing. Both are filled with Mrs. Stewart's Concentrated Liquid Bluing (Prussian Blue pigment ink).

Prussian blue is one of my favorite colors., if I were to buy a  TWSBI, it would be the one that comes in that shade, or the Classic in blue.

Parker 45s are really having a moment, and you have such lovely examples. The first one looks like either teal blue or aqua to me. Thank you for sharing them.

The M120 iconic blue is on my short list, as iis a blue M200/05 and a blue M400. I really want a blue Pelikan and will need to see what the Penguin has in stock when it’s time to buy. That Perfecto is also a stunner. The Studio has been on my list for a bit, but I keep hearing about finish issues, especially under the clip.- how’s your pen doing?

@sandy101, those are so pretty! I love Cross pens . The gold capped 51s are my favorite, I wish I had a blue one- mine is green. Both Viscontis remind me of the sea.

I forgot there was a teal blue.

Standard teal blue and Arrow teal blue, but the standard and Arrow colors are different. It may be the difference in the material batch.

I thought it would be turquoise, but wasn't sure...

But if this is aqua blue, it is a very rare item.

It is too bright for turquoise and not transparent enough for aqua blue...

Here's a quick shot of the Parker 45 blue/green shades I have.

I've used parkerpens.net and parker45pens.com as references. I think I have it right, but I'm no expert, just a guy who likes his pens.

Left to right...

P45 Classic CT Dark/Midnight Blue x 2, P45 Classic CT Vista Blue / Turquoise, P45 Arrow CT Teal Blue x 2, P45 Classic GT (Argentina) Teal Blue, P45 Classic GT Forest Green x 2.

Personally I don't "see" the vista or teals as blues, I "see" them as greens.

I'm on the lookout for the Light/Aqua Blue if anyone can help?  🙏

Apparently we have the same problem...

My bright blue pen looks the same color as your turquoise...

It also looks like a different color...

If I were to get one for comparison, I don't think I could find aqua blue on the market, and even if I could, I don't feel like buying it because I expect it to be quite expensive...

That’s a lovely collection 👍

But it is, surely, self-evident that it will remain ‘worryingly incomplete’ until you acquire a “51” in ‘Midnight Blue’… 😉

Foul in clear conditions, but handsome in the fog.

Hi Everyone! This is a great thread. Really enjoy the photos of your blue pens.

Here are some of the blue pens that are currently in my and my wife's collection. There are both vintage and modern pens. It's good to document pens in color groups like this because we will no doubt sell some of them in the future.

Gorgeous, I love all eras of pens but mid 1900s Parker and Sheaffer’s (with and without the ‘s) are what catch my eye  most of the time. The Lady white on blue  made me gasp.

Appreciate the concern @Mercian and you're quite right, it is worrying. 🙂

Fortunately, I find I have a 51 Vac in Cedar Blue, which will have to put me on, till I can acquire a 'Midnight Blue'.

Thank you for sharing your pens! How do you like the 601? I’m considering one as I found 14k replacement nibs on AliExpress. The lil’ Tuckaway is adorable!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
