TWSBI and FPR part ways

But when there's so much indicative and accurate evidence available, one side of the story's all you really need to hear.

Ever notice that all the instruments looking for signs of intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Isn't this all price fixing? Perhaps it's legal in Taiwan, but price fixing is a violation of the law in the United States of America. Minimum advertised pricing is defined as price fixing in the U.S.A. Fountain Pen Revolution is located in  Plano, TX, USA. So I'm wondering if there's a bigger issue here.

I am not a lawyer. So I don't know, and I'm not claiming that the agreement between Fountain Pen Revolution and TWSBI is illegal but I am wondering.

Is it? When did this come about? There have been, and I believe continue to be, manufacturers who, by contract, don't allow their retailers to sell or advertise prices lower than the manufacturer's set price. Lacking a monopoly, there's no compulsion here, the retailer is not required to carry their products, nor is the customer required to buy them. But if the customers want to buy them, they have to pay the manufacturer's set price. Nor can TWSBI be considered to have a monopoly on anything but their own products.

Is there? I confess I'm not seeing it.

His unpleasant attitude seems to be rooted in the belief that he has been treated unfairly and that everyone is out to get him. That's not normal.

This seems to me a considerable stretch beyond what we, the public, know about the situation.

I've purchased a handful of TWSBI Ecos as well as a Diamond 580ALR in a 1.1 stub.

Just out of curiosity recently I picked up the Cult Pens 'exclusive' Nahvalur Azure Sea in a stub. Comparison tested over Christmas, to my surprise the Nahvalur's smoother and more responsive nib won.

Happy with my TWSBIs but not sure I'll be purchasing any more.

Yeah, I don't love the stub nib in my 580AL, however, I do love my medium in my 700r. IIRC TWSBI uses JoWo nibs, and Nahvalur uses in house nibs

Okay, thanks for clarifying that.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
