Help identifying vintage Platinum pen?

Title is all, really. Recently bought a few vintage Japanese pens, but I'm not really sure about the model of this particular Platinum, or what to expect. I believe it's from the 70s and 80s? It looks very reminiscent to a Parker 75. Any input is appreciated, as is any comments about what I should expect from the pen in terms of quality and performance.

Doing some digging of my own using resources recommended by a friend, it seems like it might be a Platinum Riviere, but it's missing the Riviere label at the bottom of the cap. Only leaving me more confused than before. Why did Japanese companies need to make so many tiny variations in their pens?

Hello.

 

This pen is not a commercial product.

Please note the logo on the cap of that pen.

 

I believe it is similar. It appears to have been in a printed package with 熨斗 (noshi), a decoration indicating a gift.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
