Arriving Soon - New Narwhal Pen Of The Year Rabbit

Nibs.com

Recommended Posts

Just announced and arriving at the end of this month, the new Narwhal Pen Of The Year Rabbit is being produced in just 223 pieces. Pearl white resin and rose gold trim combine to give this writing instrument a quietly sophisticated appearance.

Each piston-fill pen is provided with a 14k solid gold nib in Medium. Regrinds to finer tipping sizes are also available from us, along with our exclusive nib customizations.

Our price just $295 - and for another pen inspired by this year's Chinese Zodiac, see our own Rabbit Looking At The Moon...

Wow, I agree. I'm not the biggest fan of Narwhal's designs but that is legitimately gorgeous. The glazed/frosted look is very interesting.

I usually don´t go for white pens and even less for rose gold, but... well... that one looks pretty cool!

I'm sure it's just me, but I'm not quite seeing the "rabbit" inspiration in the final design.

I thought they were Nahvalur now?

That´s what I thought, too, but the cap ring clearly says "Narwhal". 🤷‍♀️

@Paul-in-SF You have a point there. As the pen looks a lot more like ice than anything with a rabbit connotation, the best rabbit inspiration I get from this pen is the white rabbit with the golden pocket watch on a chain from Alice in Wonderland. But as I don´t care for zodiac stuff, to me, it´s just a pretty pen with a design you don´t see every day.

I guess they're using old stock for the cap ring.

I can't help thinking how much nicer it would look, though, with a white or clear nib unit housing rather than the black, and the same for the black piston parts. I'm always surprised at how hard it is to get light coloured housings for standard nib units, and it would greatly improve the look of so many pens, especially those with thinner sections.

Oh, it does look like a popsicle. Just don't lick it!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
