I'm seeing some like a caked residue on the bottom of the bottle some of which has dissipated by stirring with a pipette but some is left there. I'm wondering if I should add an ink additive and is it safe to use? Thanks.

I bought one of the first batch bottles of GMB and a thin layer of light tan stuff always settles out when the ink sits for a few hours.  A number of Noodler's inks do this.  You need to shake the bottle before filling your pen and practice good pen hygiene when you are through with the fill. I like the ink but only use it in modern pens that are easy to clean thoroughly.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Ditto (twice). IMO it's "simply" the over-saturation, common to many (and/or all) Noodler's inks. Apart from that, one of my very most favorite browns.

Thanks. I’m going to try clear the bottom out with more measures but I’ll use it as I really like it. Most inks with good shaking the residue clears out or like J. Herbin anniversary the gold/silver particles integrate back in.

My update is that the ink is performing well and nothing seems to be wrong with it. I'm using it today in a Neponset. Happy here!

Our admin is unreachable so we can't update the shopping carts. We have lots of the red, less of the blue and none of the brown.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
