I think the top of the cap on the Denali pen looks like the summit. 🙂

Indeed, it looks like a soft snow cover!

I can only repeat: this is a gorgeous looking pen!

One life!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I so need to photograph the writing I did with some stub nib pens and post here. Pity they won’t post by mind control.

Ok, got the necessary things done, so now some stub nib writing photos. First up is below. I neglected to write “More Mountain pens to come…”

I used Oli clips to hold the notebooks in place  large.0AF82EC6-961A-4CAF-89D7-124788DB3968.jpeg.4eb9a985b64180b6284901a2783f88db.jpeg

The next stub nib writing photo lacks the pen. I forgot to get it for the photo, probably because of placing the Oli clips. This was my first use of them with notebooks. large.ACDEAFFD-F873-4E61-B4C0-05D1C620AB94.jpeg.331d0333f66b7e8133d686a0f7c965f6.jpeg

I got a new Maruman Mnemosyne notebook yesterday that has the spiral rings at the top. The pages have one side with graph paper, the other side is blank. The pen is the Retro 51 Peacock pen that should have been in the photo of my previous post.

Thanks @amberleadavis  I’ve seen these top bound Mnemosyne notebooks on the Tokyopenshop.com (in Iowa).  One of the owners, Kimberley, records videos on products. She uses the larger size of the Mnemosyne notebook I got to show all the ink colors of the various types of pens they sell.

I sometimes write on envelopes I get in the mail. I’ll write the pen and ink. I figured why not get this notebook, where I can keep what I’ve written, even if it’s just pen name and ink name.

The pages are perforated. I got it from Amazon when they offered free Prime for a month. The larger version is $18.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
