Alas, not yet.  I have another two weeks to wait for it.

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

So, I went to visit Jim Hinze, @Sinistral1's pen was not yet ready, but I did see the material.  I ended up acquiring two more pens.

Amber, those look amazing - makes me wish my salary was, well, somewhat bigger than it is...  Congratulations on your purchases!

Well, WHEN I finally make it down under, I'll bring one and we will work out some cool trade.

image.thumb.jpeg.c31dc8d88f59d5bb99f997c94150dfd2.jpegMy new pen is in the UPS truck and on its way to me!  Jim at Hinze Pens sent me a photo of it and I have named it the “Nebula”.

The nib is bright green - how cool is that?!

By the way, Amber, your new pens are stunning!  Now you have to find inks that are brighter than they are!

@amberleadavis

I found this thread when researching Hinze Pens because of the other thread about the custom pens!

I'm sure I responded about the fridge pen in another thread, but that might have been to someone other than you.  Monteverde actually replaced it when it was clear it was not fixable.

I am curious why you like such large pens - is it to go with the big stub nibs?  And why do you not like clips?  I like that they keep the pens from rolling, but I saw that Hinze Pens has a roll stop that can accomplish the same thing.  I clip pens to my notebooks when I leave the house, but my more expensive pens don't normally leave the house.

So spectacular!

Is it fair for an intelligent and family oriented mammal to be separated from his/her family and spend his/her life starved in a concrete jail?

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
