Does/did the Sailor Pro Gear Mini REALLY come with an EF nib?

I'm shopping for a Pro Gear Slim Mini and found one on eBay supposedly new with an EF nib (seller in Japan).  My understanding was they only came with MF nibs?  In fact I would vastly prefer an EF.  Can somebody confirm Sailor sells/sold a PGSM with an EF?  So I can be relatively sure that the seller is not up to anything shady?  Crossing my fingers...

Sailor does.

(What is it with people requesting help or asking for favours, from peers and strangers in online forums, and not even bothering with saying ‘please‘ these days?)

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Thanks for responding even though I didn't say please.  I'll try to be better moving forward.
I now have two nice people helpfully telling me (with proof) that the Slim comes in EF.  I didn't express myself clearly: what I please would like to know is if the Mini comes in EF.  I found no indication to that effect on the Sailor site or half a dozen retailers.
Thanks in advance,

I have found that at least two separate eBay sellers have them, so I am gaining my nerve.

I understand where your question comes from, as most of these limited and/or mini pens by Sailor only come equipped with a H-MF nib, but there are vendors out there, who either change the nib, or Sailor also distributes these with other nibs already (I am not sure about the details).

I did buy a Sailor Pro Gear Slim Mini Beni White on eBay last year with a H-B nib, and a Sailor Nagasawa Kobe Pro Gear Slim Mini EF also, so yes, these are also available with other options than H-MF.

The first two releases (with six colourways each) of the relaunched Sailor Professional Gear Slim Mini, which started circa mid-2020, offered no other nib option but 14K gold H-MF. However, Sailor has since made three plain colours (black, maroon, and ivory) of the new PGSM model — which no longer has the external thread near the end of the barrel, that allowed secure posting of the cap by screwing it in place — available with all seven ‘standard’ nib options for the Profit and Professional Gear product lines.

Nib options other than H-MF were offered for some Sailor's ‘collab’ exclusive models of the PGSM for certain stationery stores or retail brands (e.g. Nagasawa Stationery Center, Bungubox), prior to Sailor's own relaunch in 2020. For example, the Morita store exclusive was offered with H-F and H-MF (but not H-EF) nibs.

the official designation of the colour is maroon, not red

Thank you, I never knew that. I just assumed the Slim was the mini.

You must be polite to the impolite man!!

He does however deliver the goods as always ;)

...so many items are offered in more variety for the JDM, it's a good thing we clueless folk from the other side of the world have a resource like ASD and FPN (in all seriousness!)

David-

So many restoration projects...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
