My Blue Birds ... Well, most of them.

Bo Bo -- you naughty chap: you have hi-jacked David's thread and taken us into the skies!  Go to gaol and miss one turn!

Actually, although I also find the Connie to be a most handsome aircraft: there are several I find far more beautiful (Concorde, yes, of course -- and spelled with an -e, please!) -- for instance, the gorgeous Vickers VC-10!  And before those I used to fly in Bristol Britannias non-stop London-Nairobi which was a <fifteen-hour> flight!  Beat that!  ;^)

Turbo Prop across the Atlantic was well over 12 hours, with a re-fuel stopover Nova Scotia. Don't remember what exact plane that baby flight was....I flew a few baby flights. Young GI wife's with screaming babies. as a 17 year old boy, I sat on their babies....going both ways.

Babies don't like to fly, because of air pressure differences and not being able to blow while holding one's nose.

Concord is more in American minds than Concorde because of concord grape....and something in the first American Rebellion.

The thief Sam Adams, stole 15,000 pounds from Harvard. Paid by the smuggler Johnny Hancock to Rise the Rabble with paid for free rum; he did. The Boston Tea party didn't happen because of a high tea tax. That had been rescinded.

Three tea smuggler ships docked at Boston harbor. The two ships that didn't belong to the smuggler Johnny Hancock were plundered...""for political reasons"":lticaptd:....right. Johnny almost broke even, because of the sudden lack of smuggled tea, gave him a chance to sell it for normal tax less legal prices, instead of the high smuggled tea price.

It is my belief that a henchman of Johnny Hancock the smuggler fired the first shot  at Lexington in Johnny owed 100,000 pounds in smuggling fees, so the 15,000 he invested in starting that war was well invested. Who told the British about the arms? Who set up the Minute Men.

Johnny wasn't one to leave important things like starting a war to chance.

They left him a big space to sign declaration , and he did sign, after the peace treaty was signed in 1783.. Johnny was the second richest man in the Americas after Bennie Franklin, who would never be hanged. He bought  one of his illegitimate sons the Royal Governorship of New Jersey. The question is always, was he so stupid as to hire the British spy as his secretary or was that a clever move and he knew???

They didn't teach either back when I was in H.S. and Collage before computer....so doubt if they do now.

Zen hijacking is a way of life.

No. I am familiar with the Nord, although I don't own one. My pen is the Blue Ocean LE. Here's a link with some information:

I recognized the M800 Blue Ocean, which is the second vertical one if counts front the right hand side.

What's the one lies horizontally on the top? That's the one I am not sure and accidentally recognized as the Nord/LB.

The pen second from the right is the Blue Ocean. The pen on the top is a M605 all blue. The hardware looks gold in the photo, but it is actually silver.

I love your picture, David.  That's a great flock.

I kind of have a thing for blue pens myself.  Pelikan 800's are at lower right.  The group has grown a bit since this picture was taken.  One mistake for sure - I never should have sold the Blue Ocean.

@whichwatch those are lovely pens.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
