Not that I've heard (but then I generally get that information from people on here when the folks more in tune with that sort of thing come out).

I blow hot and cold on the SE colors.  Some I couldn't wait to get my hands on (the Dark Lilac and Violet Safaris, for instance) while others I go "Meh..." (the reissue of the original two colors are a good example).  And some (the Vibrant Pink and Azure al-Stars) I kinda had to wait to see in person.

Heard nothing yet. Maybe they struggle from the supply chain problems too. Aluminium and plastic prices got quite up this year.

I've heard a rumour of Strawberries and Cream for the Safari, I did see a picture but haven't been able to find it today.  Not heard anything yet for the Al-star.

In Frankfurt International Airport I saw a display with tree new pastel-coloured Safari.

But I did not take any pictures, sorry, did not think of it while I was looking, they where not popping in my head, just very blah/borring.

Faber-Castell Hexo.. but also still a sucker for Lamy AL-star and Safari

Hmmm.  Not overly inspiring colors are they?  Although I'm always a sucker for the clips that are colored as well, so they don't look QUITE so much like giant paperclips.  Highly functional?  Sure.  Attractive?  Eh... not so much....

I'd have to see the "strawberry" one in person.  The "cream", though, I'll pass on -- especially after having gotten the "White and Red" one not that long ago....

Which is my usual state of being, so I am settling right in to 2022.

If the Safari SEs do turn out to be "strawberry and cream", I will pass.  That said, it's as though Lamy has read my mind about which colours I like in the last few years: Petrol, Dark Lilac, Mango, Violet and, best of all, Savannah Green.  I loved all of these.  So I really have nothing to complain about, if the SE colours are not of interest to me this year (as was the case for the all-black and pastel versions).

We're kind of complementary here.

Well that's half the fun.  What I like might not be what someone else does, and vice versa.

I remember a few years ago someone saying "I don't like the look of Parker 51s" and me going "Oh, good -- that many more for me!" :lticaptd:

Hi all, just wanted to post a link to the previous post where someone had a picture of the potential "Strawberry and Cream" Safaris. Here's hoping we get an official announcement soon!

And here's the image if you don't feel like following the link:

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
