Parker Fountain ID Help

[Mummo]

This pen was in a box that I purchased.  I'm am just not certain what it is.  Oddly enough, it is imprinted Geo. S. Parker -PARKER - Made in U.S.A. and underneath that is the word Winner.  I can't find anything online that list an imprint with the word "Winner".  Is it anything special?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you read what's on the nib? I can't make it out from the photo.

From the style of the clip, and that it's clearly a buttonfiller model, my first guess would that it's a vintage Parker Duofold.  

I recommend you check out what you can find on www.parkercollector.com in the article about Duofolds, and also see what you can find about the model on www.richardspens.com.  There are probably other sites out there, but the first one is my first source for all things Parker, and the second is a good general site for many brands.

Not a Duofold, depression era resulted in lots of materials being used.  The shape and single band makes me wonder if its a Victory with a US replacement nib.

I also thought it might be a Victory. But the OP states that the imprint on the barrel says 'made in U.S.A.' I'm no expert in these pens, but Parkerpens states that Victory pens were only made in the UK.

I have owned one of these, same pattern, It was from the Depression Era Series, my pen was photographed in Peter Twydle's book on Fountain Pens.

 

The word Winner shows that it was a prize of some sort or, less likely, to be someones name.

 

It is something special in the sense that it is uncommon, if you don't want to keep it I would have it cleaned up and get the nib sorted out and put it up for sale, it should be worth £60/$100+

Simply a prize, probably school sports day.

Is this the imprint on your pen? also check the little dots and number at the end (if present).




I have the following pen with similar  but slightly different material but with a very different imprint (victory).

 

Edit: now that I had another look, the patterns are very different, sorry.

No dots or numbers but the rest of the imprint looks like the first pic.

Date codes started in 'early' 1934, so there could be some 1Q & 2Q 1934 pens without a date code.  Duofold production ended in 1933, so the depression era pens and materials were becoming available.
