I'm changing my edc pen! My new pen will be a pilot metropolitan, I have been longing to get this pen, after months of asking, (I'm broke so I had to ask my parents) I finally got it! It's arriving this week on Wednesday, I can't wait for it! (I might occasionally use my old pen)

Good choice. What color did you choose?

I have a taupe one (though it doesn’t look particularly taupe to me, which is good). I like fine nibs and my metropolitan has a particularly smooth nib for being so fine. It is hard for me to believe Pilot makes an extra-fine nib.

 

I’m sure your other pen will continue to see good use. If I only used one pen I’d be refilling it ten times a week. A backup is always good for when you run your primary dry.
 

I have to admit that my EDC pen is a ballpoint, but it does less than 1% of my writing.

I'm choosing black!, It pairs well with white and is just... Dramatic!

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
