Hello dear members of the forum.
Sorry in advance for machine translation, I am writing in Russian with automatic translation.
The question is, such an unusual fountain pen fell into the hands, the former owner claimed that his father bought the pen in the Erkolessi brand store. The box says Parker and the handle says Europa. There is very little information on the Internet about this pen. If there are experts on this issue, please answer my questions. Interested in the period and manufacture of the pen, uniqueness and authenticity. History. Also interested in selling but do not know the price. Tell me how and where you can sell. Geographically located in Ukraine.
Thanks in advance for any answer and suggestion. Thanks.

Ercolessi was a famous pen store in Milan (Italy), it is now closed. Regarding the pen, although the box is branded Parker, the pen is not a Parker.

The brand Europa can be find on laminated safety pens produced in Italy, but I do not have other information.

Here some information on the Europa brand automatically translated from italian (from fountapen.it)

Italian brand, on which there is very little historical information.  Known for the production of 18-karat gold laminated recesses (18 K.R.marking) of excellent workmanship, with beautiful embossed or filigree decorations.  The Europa mark is shown on both the pen and the nib.  A certain date of commencement of production is not known, we will arbitrarily assume 1930 for the use of chronology.

It is not clear whether the brand was linked to an autonomous company or to a production carried out by others.  The few documentary sources available originate from the Cesare Marinai catalogs, in which this brand appears together with others attributable to the production of the Cavaliere brothers.  The production sold by Marinai explicitly bears the CM stamp.  The production also extended to the post-war period, with examples with a faired nib with a laminated metal coating (as in this example).

Thank you for your comment! Could it be that the boxes were overridden? Have you noticed the pointed arrow of the clamp? In any case, thanks for your attention.

Hi Sergio,

I only know that your pen is a SAFETY  filler pen, popular made around 1910-20´s years, the pen is filled up through the nib point when is retracted.

Best Regards

Hello, Mr.Rene.
Thanks for your reply. I thought the pen was around 1930, why did you think it was older and made in 1910-20? Are there any links to confirm? Or is this your guess?

Best regards

Hi Sergio,

Safety filler was popular in 1920´s years but of course your pen could be made in 1930´s...I just said that safety pens were mostly made in those years..best regards.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
