Can anyone suggest what type of refill I need for this ballpoint pen?

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks Karmachanic. Yes, that does fit. There seems to be something wrong with the twist mechanism though - the nib protrudes only partially (about 50% of how much I reckon it should) when I twist the top. Pity, as it felt like a nice pen. I used it ages ago and just happened across it in a bit of clear-out.

That looks like a Parker Sonnet.  You can use any Parker BP or gel refill, or any of the DIN standard ballpoint refills like Pelikan, Rotring, or the Monteverde Easy Flow refills.  This is a twist mechanism, so it wouldn't need the ratchet top, but the refills that will fit will have them.

I wouldn't expect the G2 to work properly because of the length of the refill.  The diameter of the tip could also be off,  or the distance from the tip to where the refill tapers out.

The widely used and imitated Parker refill (ballpoint and gel) is called a G2.  So is the widely available Pilot gel pen and its refill.  As such, it can get confusing.  Karmachanic may have been referring to the Parker refill since the arrow-shaped clip on the pen in the photo is a trademark of Parker pens.

@Ruaidhri This was an absolutely wonderful bit of writing, and I hope that you're able to maintain the style once all of the medications are out of your system.  Take care and recover quickly!

These comments make me sad as I sympathise with Ruaidhri, having great difficulties in being taken seriously. Or being taken at all (no off-colors jokes, please!) In spite of overwhelming odds,  Ruaidhri -now I know how to spell it- made a courageous decision and stuck to it. I was diagnosed with a similar growth in a place I will not reveal. Oh, well, if you insist it was Mount Sinai Hospital. But I firmly intend to walk in Ruaidhri's footsteps, if he will let me, on my next visit to Dublin.

Was that the end of the Laboratory? Somehow the exactitude created a fully destructive device, as always!
