Japanese alternatives to Rakuten

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

As Rakuten closed definitively, what Japanese alternatives do we have now? I am really missing some of the great sellers there (Nagasawa, Pen House, Hogado, etc).

Why not try a proxy.  It works perfectly.

https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/en/.

They are skilled and real pros.

Rakuten, Yahoo, amazon or any direct link you enter in their search window.

When you get experienced you may search directly on Rakuten

(copy/paste, use google transl., images, and use your intuition to decrypt and interpret untranslationable odd expressions).

to find even better prices.

Always 7% on all Rakuten purchases every week approx. Tuesday-thursday.

Shipping cost simulation:

You may opt for much lower shipping rates than JP EMS.

(P.s. Not possible to order inks, for legal reasons).

Also, a Taiwanese multi plateform.

https://en.pinkoi.com/store/nagasawa

Kobe inks and much more.

With multiple selection options like country of origin.

Shipping is reasonable.

I've had very good experience them. My purchase was sent by Nagasawa from Kobe.

Good hunt!

That's news to me. I know Rakuten Global Market ceased operating well over a year ago, but the original Rakuten Ichiba (Japanese language) marketplace platform continues to operate today. (I checked just now.)

If you require or prefer an English language interface, there is Amazon.co.jp. I don't know whether it will or will not allow (direct) shipping of orders to the country in which you reside; it hasn't accepted Australian delivery addresses for over three years now, but I've bought from it since then and arranged for the products to be sent to me using forwarding (aka re-shipping) services out of Japan.

As well, I've ordered pens shipped directly by DHL (at my expense that was additional to the item prices) from Japan only a few months ago from several different sellers on eBay, and all of them have been delivered quickly and without incident.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct for valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.
