Ford Patent Pen Appreciation

Recommended Posts

WhiteStarPens

Aside from what can be found on Dr Laurence Oldfield's website, there's not a great deal on the Ford pens to see or read on the web. The fourth edition of Pen Repair (Laurence & Marshall etc) is the best one can hope for in terms of lots of detail and diagrams, photographs etc.

Until the good Doctor publishes his 'Onoto Repair' - esque book on the subject, let's use this thread to show off the Ford pens in our collections.

My humble Ladies Ford was restored by Stef of Grandmia Pens on YouTube.

Stef is a skilled and knowledgeable chap who doesn't seem to get the press, so to speak, that other pen people do. I lost count long ago of how many pens he has transformed for me.

Stef has videos of my model and a mottled Standard Long version which, as far as I know, still needs a new home. The link below is to this last Ford, showing a deconstruction of the filling mechanism. https://youtu.be/rBUP4xlI08o

I'll start the ball rolling with my black vulcanite Mk I Ford (amber ink chamber). The ladies model has a nickel silver plunger rod rather than the usual vulcanite of the larger models.

The medium nib is a dream. Now over to you!

I love Ford, here are some of them... I thought I had uploaded some images some time ago but I could not find them.

I use at least one every day

In any event Laurence & Marshall are the experts...

Enjoy your pen W.S.P !!
