If I didn't know any better, I'd guess that that first nib were a custom Bock nib with a Flash slit. Amazing, honestly.

No bock nib or any Germany things here.

It is pure Chinese 14k nib produced by Hero, polished by Green Stationary

For the Flash slit, the gold flakes were made by Hero ,Green made the slit

629 looks identical to 628 but from the ink windows I expect 629 is gonna be a piston filler? That would be nice.

piston filler or vacumatic filler

I have to say, more than any other recent release, this has captured my interest. I'll be looking forward to reviews, if not getting one for myself.

These silver cap 601s are available on eBay. Very attractive pens.

Price over $130. Well, silver cap, gold nib, I gues higher price is to be expected.

But thanks, I'm good with my steel nibs.

I see the 629 on Aliexpress for around $110US.  I have the WS628 and it is a very nice pen, but the nib is #5. The new piston filler looks like a 14k gold #6. The come in flat top and cigar shaped options with either a slit-style or an open ink window.

Thank you  , to be honest,I don't know excatly what prices overseas of these chinese fountain pen .I think 110USD is a too high to this pen .629's piston filler is made of plastic and the polishment of barrel is not very exquisite.

Wingsung is  going to produce some really high end fountain pens ,but not the 629.I 'm sorry I can't say more about it .But I think the new porduct may wroth a price around 200-300USD.

I'm re-loading my WS 629 today and noticed it glows red, as if made with 'precious resin.'  😉

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
