Levenger Gemstone Green - comparisons and complements

Recommended Posts

Here's my fourth of these comparisons / contrasts thanks to @amberleadavis! :) As before, the paper is 52gsm cream Tomoe River.  Also, I left the images big so any who wish can zoom in and see color in detail.  Color reproduction isn't too bad - I describe any variation in the ink list at the bottom.

Photograph (color in this one is very close, including darkness / lightness; see below for exceptions):

Inks Used:

  • Levenger Gemstone Green (darker than the scan shows; not quite green enough in the photo)
  • Waterman Harmonious Green (less minty than the scan; still off a little in the photo, but not much)
  • Robert Oster Aussie Brown (less red than the scan; should be more yellow, I think)
  • Diamine Autumn Oak (more burnt / brownish than the scan; photo looks spot on)
  • 3Oysters Hwangto (more yellow / gold than the scan and in the photo)
  • Rohrer & Klingner Aubergine (darker than the scan; the photo is too blue)

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

:) Thanks!  It is interesting to see which inks go well together - and how off my guesses can be...
