PIF - Bottle of Sheaffer Blue Black

BayesianPrior

Recommended Posts

Due to a shipping mix-up I am the proud owner of three bottles of Sheaffer Blue Black - an ink I never wanted and will struggle to use.

Today I received a free bottle of ink from @LeadoutTJV and I am filled with the spirit of paying it forward.

So my modest offering is a bottle of Sheaffer Blue Black ink, sent to your door.

Due to shipping costs, I can only offer this PIF within Canada.

Hot dang, American here.

Best of luck Canadians!

I love my Parker Blue-Black, my first ink I ever got, and my only blue-black. Sheaffer Blue-Black through images doesn't quite compare.
Lovely pif post though :) I hope the recipient enjoys :D

Not an entry, since I'm not even on the same continent... damn those shipping costs -- but very nice of you to do this PIF, Bayesian

😎

Stay safe,

Well, I could offer it internationally if the recipient could cover shipping costs, but I suspect that international shipping would cost more than buying the bottle of ink in a store near you (about $15).

Yup, and then some...

In another PIF by Detman101, I was the lucky recipient of a bottle of Sailor ink. All very nice and lovin' the spirit of paying it forward, but damn those shipping costs - I could almost buy a bottle of Edelstein for that kind of money...

😕 🤔

Ok, willing to sweeten the PIF for an international audience.

No geographic restrictions.  PIF will include:

  • Unopened bottle of Sheaffer Blue-Black
  • Opened bottle (80% full)of Visconti Bordeaux
  • Fellowship 72 fountain pen (Indian eyedropper) in red resin (some sort of Parker tribute?)

Recipient to cover postage costs from Canada.

With the help of a generous old hand, the PIF has successfully been claimed by Mar.

It never ceases to amaze me how generous and thoughtful our little community is.

@Mar_ We would all love to see a couple of reviews once you've had a chance to play with the inks and the pen!

Congratulations, Mar, looks like you'll be getting an (even) bigger collection of inks & pens...
:D
And thanks to Bayesian for making a PIF, these things are a blessing to both receiver & giver
.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
