Nice! I wonder how limited these “limited models” are? And how wear-resistant the graphics are?

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

the black one has serious potential...

especially if the graphics can be worn off/removed relatively easily.

tsk for posting

Just give me the Parker 51s and nobody needs to get hurt.

These look really nice - so much so that I'll be happy to hand them out to hook people onto the hobby 😆

Hoping to see these in local stores soon.

A sincere man am I
From the land where palm trees grow,
And I want before I die
My soul's verses to bestow.

All those moments will be lost in time.
Like tears in rain.
Time to die.

I wish they would make a Preppy that is 1.5x size/scale.

That'd be a bloody long pen!

Those are pretty!

I'm not in pen-acquiring mode, but I'd look twice at those.

Even in Japan they are only available in a few B&M shops. I guess they are special/limited editions which might sell out quickly. It seems to be a collaboration between that online shop and Platinum - no information on Platinum HP.

At IG, Platinum said they are (will be?) available only in Japan.

@IThinkIHaveAProblem

I think the print can be removed easily. With the normal Preppy printing, I used a mixture of 10%acetone in methanol and scrubbed it away. More acetone and you will destroy the clarity of the resin. https://www.instagram.com/p/CH6wuyaDyvq/

Actually, I am no fan of Preppys. I wanted to use them as eye-droppers but the weight of the ink pushed ink through the feed/nib and transformed an F nib into something like an M or B.

knowing that Japanese companies are notorious for their "Japan only" products, I won't be holding my breath.

The designs are really classic, simple and so very Japan that I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Japan exclusive.
I particularly love the red (that asanoha is just perfect! ) and will totally be keeping an eye out for these but not getting my hopes up since they're limited.

5 bucks?? That is well beyond my budget.

Goulet says $7.20 USD—that's crazy. Adding a converter brings it to $18.20! Outrageous.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

What do you do with all those Preppies?

Are you able to remove the nibs from the Preppies, or do you just switch sections?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
