Mohi is the house brand of Abhay pen agencies, Aurangabad, Maharashtra State, India. The pens are made in-house in their factory.

These pens were purchased last week directly from them though post.

First off is the Mohi Aura:

The nib is an Indian no 35 in F. I enquired about other nib width options. It seems they will be offered soon.

This model is not new. I have a previous version. The older one  also had a no 35 nib which I switched out with a M205 nib unit.

The Mohi logo has been updated. I prefer the older one but YMMV.

F points are not my thing. But I have tested the new nib. It’s very smooth and quite well made. A nice improvement by Mohi. The older Mohi has remained continuously inked since 2019 when I got it. It’s excellent. Dry out proof cap.

Next is the Mohi Harmony:

Again an old model but updated with a larger 35nib and new logo.

Lastly we have the Mohi Panache:

This is a double headed pen. Single barrel with two ink chambers and sections. The pen rest is included.

I am very happy with the fit and finish of the pens. All came with their own boxes. Nibs are pretty smooth for Fs. However I need atleast B or wider. So I will be swapping out nibs before I start using the pens.

cheers

Hari

Hi sir, If you don't have one, you should ask Mr. Pathak if they have their LE pen in stock. I like that design too.

Mohi makes beautiful, sturdy pens at a very good price point.

Yes agreed. I like Mohi pens in general. And the new nibs are good.

Is this the LE pen?

The brown ripple Mohi has been continuously inked since 2019. A very reliable pen.

@hari317, If you don't mind me asking, where do you source your M200 nibs?

Of course not. I have bought several from here:

beautiful pens. i wish they were more readily available outside of India

Thank you. There should be no problem buying the pen from outside India. The owner of this pen company, Mr Pathak is prompt in his communication and writes good English. WhatsApp messenger is the easiest mode to communicate with them. +91 92253 28858
Good luck!

Beautiful pens! Nibs Made by KW?

Thanks. I really don’t know. The engraving and nib surface flatness is different from kw. I guess it might be ambitious. But this is only my guess. I haven’t asked Mr Pathak about it.

I cut appropriate threads and clearances for the nib unit in the section. Then you simply screw the nib unit in. HTH.

I noted that Abhay do not have a Web site. Maybe not even a direct e-mail address?

I actually asked them for you. They prefer only WhatsApp. Sometimes we have to go their way…

That Aura is really lovely. I'm glad to know Mohi are coming out with new models; they were very hospitable when I visited (a few years ago now). The ebonite and transparent mix is really stunning.

Yes. The ink window at the tail is an unique touch.

The LE is well made. I think I simply got a bad nib on it. It uses a proprietary nib unit. The nib was pretty scratchy. And good replacements from Bock or JoWo did not fit well into the housing when I tried. Finally a KW nib fit but I am not too happy. It’s a nicely machined pen and has a thread to post cap.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
