I'm a new member that joins the great passion of writing instruments and all other good and bad things around.

I got interested since a few months, but the time since then has been with a lot of new informations and i keep learning new pens / inks / accessories and paper during this journey and i hope to get new goods contacts here as well.

A common thing we already have and share so i think i wont be difficult to exchange ideas and informations.

About my favorite pens, so far i haven´t tried them all, but some of them are from these companies Lamy, Pelikan, Waldmann, Achim Velte, Otto Hutt, GvFC, MontBlanc, Saarpen, Visconti, Delta, Pineider, Montegrappa, from Asia i only have from Pilot. Other pens that joined my collection were from Kaweco, Inoxcrom and Super Tfrom Spain, Parker 51 older versions, are in my collection as well.

From regional placement those are the pens i get easy access to, but once the pandemic would be better and some of the pen shows will reopen, it would be easier for me to get other pens in my hands.

How do i got to this hobby, well i got time ago a pen from the company where i work for in Germany as a Gift, and it took time to get used to the pen, in fact it was not well adjusted and i did not had any idea of all the differences in the field,

but with the time i got interested to write by hand some nice letters and started searching for some other pens, and for a gift as well, a few time later here I am.

In any case of anything im glad to join the network.

And we can communicate in english or in german and spanish as well. ;)

Stay safe and have a nice evening or day.

Hello Ricardo and welcome  :)

You already have a great collection going on there - this place (I'm afraid) will only encourage you to expand that!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
