Modern Esterbrook adapter problems...

Has anyone used the modern Esterbrook adapter for renew points? I got one and it is too tight for all the Renew Points that Ι

have tried . They start giving a lot of resistance while the threads are still out (like below). I know I can push more but then they

are a beast to get out. If I leave it out then it stops writing after 1/2 a page. Anyone with a  similar experience or advice?No photo description available.

I did not think the 14k gold Relief nibs were the same as the SS Esterbrook ReNew nibs.  Might that be the problem?

There's a lot of variety from nib to nib with the Esterbrook units.  Just a couple thou thicker threads will make things too tight.  I would get in touch with the retailer or whoever is making Esterbrook now (Yafa?) and ask for a new section.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
