Krishna Inks: Monsoon Sky

A full review of the ink with more pictures can be found on my blog: https://fountainpensandstationery.home.blog/2021/05/09/krishna-monsoon-sky/

This ink is a beautiful Prussian blue, with hints of purple sheen. This shades well, with a tiny purple sheen on the edges and no shimmering.

It writes wet with my Ranga Giant 9B stub nib, and dries slowly.

This is my favourite Krishna Ink yet. The colour coupled with the way it writes has made its way into my heart.

On the backside the ink blot bled through on my 68gsm tomoe river endless recorder notebook, but the writing did not, however there was some ghosting.

Highly recommend this ink, and can't wait to test out my other Krishnas for review.

Thanks for the review. I'm glad you like it.

This reminds me of Emerald of Chivor!

Keep up the good job

I love Monsoon Sky, and use it a lot, but like many Krishna inks, I found it very dry until I added a bit of flow aid.

Thank you for reviewing!

Thanks for the review!  I really like the darker spots in your pictures - sort of reminds me of Colorverse Ham #65 - a color I really like. :)

Thanks for this review. It is my understanding that there is more than one version of this ink, i.e. v2, v3 etc.

That to me is sad as adds confussion but it is what it is.

Perhaps changing formulation to keep improving it. Although the stores don't show any version in the details about the ink.

Wasn't aware of this, thank you.

I've not seen any differences in Monsoon Sky - though some (like Moon View and Jungle Volcano definitely have a couple of - which are clearly named.  My most recent bottle of Monsoon sky is no different to my last one, which was one of the first Krishna inks I bought.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
