Ink Giveaway in New Jersey

Maurizio

Recommended Posts

I am giving away several bottles of ink including:

2 bottles of Sailor Jentle Blue

1 bottle Sailor Jentle Red

1 bottle Diamine Majestic Blue

1 bottle of Noodler’s Bay State Blue

1 bottle Pelikan Brilliant Green

1 bottle Pelikan Violet

1 bottle Roher & Klinger Salix

1 bottle of JHerbin Orange Indien

and maybe a few others.

Nothing wrong with any of the ink. I just have too many bottles and would rather share than let it evaporate before I can use the ink.

Now that these miserable Covid restrictions are starting to be lifted in NJ, this exchange will take place in person at a Starbucks or other cafe in Closter NJ (not my hometown). I am fully vaccinated but will still wear a mask indoors unless we can find a seat outdoors.

Preference will be given to students first.

Trying to gauge interest and will arrange a date when replies start coming in.

Maurizio

I guess there aren’t many folks near me in NJ who want some ink? Or it may be that people are still wary of in-person meet ups because of Covid.

For what it’s worth I’m fully vaccinated.

I would be happy to ship any of this ink if the recipients would be willing to pay costs of shipping, but that defeats the freebie aspect of the giveaway and you might as well just buy a bottle from a retailer especially if you have free shipping with a vendor.

This ink will be going down the drain in a few weeks if no one wants it.

I have to downsize my accumulation.

Sorry, but I'm not in NJ.  Plus, they're either ones I'm not interested in or ones I already have.

You could try doing what some people do, and paint with yours, just to use them up.

Hi Maurizio,
If nobody in NJ are interested, perhaps you would consider shipping to another member of FPN, a bit farther away?
Perhaps even shipping abroad, if the recipient pays for shipping?
Personally, I would love to have just half of those bottles you are mentioning, my current collection is very meager.
5 Pelikan 4001 plus 7 Diamine, none of which are the same as what you are offering.
Hope you can find somebody to make use of this nice ink collection, here & or there. No matter what, it's very nice of you to try and enrich the FPN community.
:)
Stay safe,
Daneaxe

Due to no response from anyone in NJ I decided to give the inks, along with a Rotring Artpen EF, and a unused Wing Sung 398, to the 17 yr old daughter of a friend who likes to draw with pencil and markers. These will be her first fountain pens.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
