Franklin Christophe Customer service wonderful

Green Ink

Recommended Posts

I recently sent a Franklin Christophe pen to a nibmeister because the ink didn't make it's way down to the nib/feed. He worked with it and then sent it on to Franklin Christophe. Even though I'd had the pen since 2016. (It had only written with the ink that was in the nib even then.)

Long story short, I ended up upgrading to another model and keeping my nib/feed. Their communication was great every step of the way. They were generous with their help - to make sure the ink was advancing to the nib, several people wrote with the pen extensively.

When a company treats their customers this great, I think everyone should know about it.

Now, which Franklin Christophe pen shall I get next?!!! Seriously, what are your favorites?

I’ve never had to contact their customer service, but I’ve read nothing but good things about them.

The Model 31 Omnis is my favorite (I have 3), but I also have a Model 19, 45XLV and a p20. All great pens that I really enjoy using.

I don't have an FC pen, but I do have their 1.9 music nib unit for JoWo threads. It's wonderful, never fails in ink flow, and the FC service was great.

If FC had a pen I wanted, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it with confidence.

Agree about their customer service. My favourite is the 02 with a Fine SIG by Audrey Matteson. Marvellous pen and a spectacular nib.

Vintage. Cursive italic. Iron gall.

I'm pretty new to FC pens, but of those (three) I have, the 45L is outstanding in terms of sheer usability.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

I have 4, all precious to me. The 31 is my favorite for comfort. The Pocket 66 is ideal for on the go in a pen loop. The 20 has no step from body to section and a very clever slip cap. The 02 is the king of posting, because the body tapers down, the cap adds almost zero length to the pen when posted. All the nibs that came with them were perfect.

Information to keep in mind for the next pen purchase.

?would you go for a model 20?  i have one in tiger red and a medium Nagahara CI - it's the best stainless steel nib i own.  the design is not for everyone though with a recessed nib - means a little extra cleaning after a fill

I'm very happy with my FC models 40 (black and Diamondcast green with stock F nib), 45 (Gold Rising SE with Nagahara M stub), and 66p (Grizzly SE, ditto on the stub nib)—they're beautiful, and write beautifully! And yes, FC customer service is responsive and helpful. They're doing good work!

Their customer service is second to none, very quick, responsive, and friendly to boot! I have three of their pens, models 02 in Gold Rising with a 14K fine stub, and a model 20 in Classic Black with a 18K medium stub. Both of these were done by Mike Masuyama. My newest is a 65 in Galaxy Blue with a HPS medium stub by Yukio Nagahara. All three of these are fantastic writers, and definitely keepers!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
