Looking for info about this Platinum pen

I got this pen at an estate sale. Band says "Platinum Japan #3776" and nib says #3776, P, 18k, and F.

The body has a single crane, a bit raised, and some cloud like shapes.

I've googled "platiunum 3776 crane" and found pens with Mt Fuji and a crane, but none that look like this.

Anyone familiar with it? 

I like it - very pretty pen. Nib is a little scratchy but pleasantly fine, as I expected.

I mean, I know it's a 3776, but why am I not finding any pictures on the Web that look like this pen? Could it be a fake?

Congratulations on the find! It is a genuine Platinum Maki-e Crane.  Bryant Chatterley over at his website had one for sale a while back.

The 18K gold might be for the French market? The one Bryant shows has a 14K nib.

I purchased this same model just last February.  Mine has a 14k medium nib and is a lovely pen to write with.  I love its appearance.

Models with 18K nibs were sold in Japan and likely an older model. Pen obviously came with 14K and 18K nibs. The model in the referenced link is more modern evidenced by the nib design. Price was very good as this is a rarer model and prices are escalating.

 

Style might be called aizu-makie.
