Absurdly priced LAMY 2K at Etsy shop - would anybody know if the pen is legit?

Greetings!

Apologies for not being able to post this query under "Market Watch"! Somehow (perhaps being a new member) I don't seem to have the privilege to create a new thread under that section!?

I came across this shop at Etsy, listing Lamy 2000 and Pilot/Namiki Falcon etc. at absurdly low price! It is a relatively new shop and already sold several LAMY 2000s - I observed the first listing was of 9 LAMY 2K - all got sold then another 9 were listed - all got sold again but surprisingly there is NO review/feedback from any customers - neither on the pens nor on the shop! I tried asking the seller directly if the pens are genuine - no response! Wanted thoughts and feedback from the wise and experienced members of this community before I placed an order (CA$120 for LAMY 2K is difficult to resist if genuine) -- Here is the link to the shop:

Thoughts?

Cheers!

This isn't really an absurd price, in that I bought an L1200 from an ebay seller for about the same price a few years ago. Endless pens also offers them for a similar price during its sales. Still, you are right to question the safety of this sale, given the seller has few sales and no feedback. My advice: skip this deal, and buy elsewhere -- if you shop around, you'll find this price. Again, your most likely bet is Endless pens, but there may perhaps be more immediate alternatives available.

For what it's worth, there are a lot of inconsistencies and errors in the written description. In the headline it says F nib, in the description EF nib; it says "Made of fiberglass with a matte brushed stainless steel finish" which is inaccurate (and doesn't make sense), the measurements in the drawing are off. That could just be ignorance and confusion on their part, but it would make me nervous too.

I agree with Nurmister, I'd pass on this and keep looking.

Update: The aforementioned shop on Etsy has disappeared completely. Thanks for the warnings friends - it was certainly a scam!

Thanks for the update; I hope you can find your reasonably-priced Lamy 2000 elsewhere.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
