Platinum President converter does not fit

Hi,

I just got my Platinum President and want to use the platinum converter from my 3776, but when I try to insert it it won't fit. What am I doing wrong?

I also tried with a standard Platinum cartridge, that didn't fit either. I am completely on bare ground. Please write if you have any suggestions :)

All right, if any of you have this problem, here could be the problem and solution: If it is the same as my problem, it is an old cartridge that is stuck in the section. The solution is to get something like a paperclip and bend a little hook and pull it out. Now there should be given a warning, you may have to use a lot of force to pull it out, so keep that in mind!

Thanks to Brian Anderson of Anderson Pens for the solution of this problem!

Without photos or a video, it's difficult to tell.

A Platinum converter should fit in a Platinum President.  Is this a new Platinum President?  Where did you purchase your Platinum President?  Is it authentic?  When your problem isn't making sense, I find myself thinking outside the box.

Glad your problem's sorted. But how can a whole cartridge be stuck in the section that's not very visible? Was it just the end of the cartridge that was stuck?

It was just the end of the cartridge and as I just got the pen I was not sure if it was a part of the pen. 😊

Thank you for offering your help, but I luckily resorted the problem.

Platinum make plastic convertors that allow their pens to take international cartridges. It is just a transparent piece of plastic.

It sounds as if the previous owner had used one, but had not removed it.

True.  Very true..  I have one and I agree that it could easily have been left there.

Couple years ago I had the same situation, but adaptor was black, not transparent. It fits very tightly in section, and seems to be its part at first sight.

Yes, it's quite frustrating. But it's quite a relief when you get it out!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
