Sailor - 1960s Brochure

Going through our archive this fold-out Sailor brochure from the 1960s was rediscovered.

Nice pens that came in several collectable colors. Most have become difficult to source.

 

One former internet based seller from Japan used to tout the suggestion that a young Mr. Nagahara tweaked nibs on a few of these pens and they got into circulation. Unlikely, of course. Probably trying to eke out a few more Yen from a sale. Or, did he??? From our experience they do write well.

You never know.   I have a Parker 51 that he tuned for me at a pen clinic about 20 years ago.

 

Sailor probably did repairs back then, so it’s at least plausible that Nagahara may have tuned some.  I would nevertheless be skeptical of a claim that he tuned any particular pen.

Valuable information about formerly unknown to me Sailor pens.

I have two pens which are very similar to pens from this catalogue - pen 3 and 4 from the left.
