Kim Bowers
Hi. Although I'm not completely new to fountain pens, I am new to the forum. I’ve acquired a handful of Parkers from the 70s and 80s over the years (a 25, 45, 50 Falcon, 80s Duofld). Now I’m looking at adding to these with a Parker 51. I’ve seen the thread about what to do with your first 51 found in the wild, so that looks like my stating point. Looks like I need to do a bit reading before spending any money. Best Regards, Kim. Hi Kim, welcome here! I'm not a Parker owner nor expert at all, but a 51's seems to be a great pen... Best wishes Jens

peterg
Welcome to FPN Kim. If 51's appeal to you, you can't go wrong with the later aeromatic version. They are virtually bullet proof. The earlier vacumatic version usually needs the diaphram replated to take up ink.
