If no other takers, I would love 14, but don't want to be greedy.

Well, you only took one pen before, but unfortunately I have already mailed it. My fault, I guess, for forgetting about these pens and for mailing out so quickly. I'll reserve it for you. It might be a couple of days now before I can send it, due to the holiday.

Hi , can i apply to gift my sister in Madison,  USA? The following two pens is interesting.

  1. “University” pen, very fine brown/black stripes, lever filler, sac holds ink, should write. “Cecil Miller” engraved on pen. Bottom of barrel is open – some piece missing, but pen works. Has TWSBI 1.1 stub nib in it.

  1. Pilot 2A, steel nib says made in Korea. Green plastic body, semi-inlaid nib, brushed gold-colored cap. Squeeze/aerometric style filler. Writes.

Sorry, both of those pens are now gone. I was only able to edit the original post for 24 hours, after that the updates are in follow-up posts.

There are two pens left, #5 from the original list, and #15 which was added later and you can see described in an earlier post (Hongdian all black metal pen with EF nib). Let me know if you are interested in either of those.

I’m interested in the two remaining pens, if they are still available. I’m new to fountain pens and am really looking forward to trying out a couple of models. Thank you!

Paul-in-SF, Thank you for your generous and fun PIF. I started out just wanting to get an old pen working and find some ink.  Little did I know that there is a whole world of fountain pen love out there. Thanks for your help getting me started on this new adventure!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
