Start your year right!  Seven fun beginner pens are in this PIF:  a floral Chinese pen that has its own squeeze filler, a blue Lamy Safari-shaped Jinhao with coverter, two clear Wing Sung piston-fillers, a black Jinhao 450 with Zebra nib and converter, a clear NoNami Chinese pen with stub nib and converter, and a red Wearever cartridge pen with one empty proprietary cart....

...aannnd a sample vial of ink so you can immediately fill and write.  CONUS only....this should go to a beginner, or someone fond of these cheerful pens.

I'll leave this open a while, then use the extremely scientific Eeny Meeny method to select a winner.  Good luck.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Could I throw my hat in the ring? That stub nib sounds amazing! 💙

I am the tarot reading, bookworm, whiskey drinking, witchcraft practicing, old fashioned writing, aunt Beasty in my family and I love it. Tarot readings for sale or trade, especially ink as I've lost all of my pen stuff from a bad burglary last year. And I need penpals! Anyone interested, please PM me!

I am a bit of a beginner.  I have been thinking the Lamy Safari style is a cool pen.  Louisiana here.

I am amazed at the generosity of this community! I am a newbie. I have a couple old pens that are not (yet) in working order, and a Pilot Metropolitan fine point on order. I’d love to try some pens with a medium nib, and am especially hoping to get a flex pen soon. If you have any pens to give away like that, it would be amazing. Thank you for your generosity. It lifted my spirits (whether I get a pen or not).

Cheers!

I have one of those -- a Jinhao 599 that someone gave me.  It's not a bad pen (although mine is this horrid matte metallic gold color they apparently called "Champagne").  I don't use it much but it taught me that I could used to the triangular grip design after all.  Of course I now have two Safaris, a Vibrant Pink al-Star, and an LX....

Just sayin....  Because of course we are all shameless enablers here....

I've been around nearly 9 years at this point -- and I'm STILL amazed and overwhelmed by the generosity of the people here.

Well, I almost feel a little greedy since I received 2 great pens from another PIF and was feeling quite lucky to own such nice pens!

But I will PIF by sharing these with my sister and daughter who I’ve shared my new addiction with. You’ve made 3 new fountain pen users very happy!

Thank you!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
