Anyone replaced the nib in their 2000?

Where did you purchase it if so?  See nibs available for most of their other FP's but very little if anything on the 2000.   Thanks in advance!

They're out there. Appelboom has them for €100. Martini Auctions foe a bit less.

Add lightness and simplicate.

Pretty sure Endless Pens has them as well.

Not currently.  Supposed to be getting some 2021Q1.

And I didn't have the heart to tell her why.
And there wasn't a part of me that didn't want to say goodbye.

I’ve switched a Fine and Medium back and forth from time to time-simple to do-watch the video, I think from Vanness, who also carry the nibs.

You can also get Lamy 2000 nibs from Australia: https://milligram.com/products/lamy-2000-fountain-pen-nib

If you're feeling adventurous you can also search for Lamy 2000 compatible stainless steel or gold nibs from older pens like:

- Lamy Ratio series (steel nibs, with exception of some Ratio 44 pens with 14K nibs)

- Lamy 25P, 26P, 66P, 67P, 68, 69 steel nibs

- most hooded nib Lamy Artus pens (steel nibs, some lightly gold plated)

- Lamy Special (14k)

- flat-ended Lamy 27-30, 27-31, 27-32, 99-36 and 99-37 models (the round ended models use a different nib style)

These older pens were made with a wide variety of nibs such as: EF, F, FK, M, B, BB, BBB, OF, OM, OB, and OBB.

PS. A new Lamy 2000 with a vintage yellow gold nib looks really special. 👍

Great post! +1

And yes, a yellow gold nib accents the otherwise monochromatic pen very, very nicely indeed. I swapped a 14K OF yellow gold nib from a Lamy 99-36 to my pre-1970 Lamy 2000 and that combo looks awesome (unfortunately the section has developed a crack typical to earlier Lamy 2000).

Dan Smith at the NibSmith.com also has them available.

That’s where I would go. I’ve exchanged the nib on a few of mine - not that difficult.

This video is helpful:

Enjoy the techno in the intro!

Thanks for this! Will be looking out for the older models to experiment with this!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
