I can’t take much credit. The fine craftsmanship is that of Gerstner in Dayton Ohio. I just dropped in some pen trays.

May I ask where you got your pen trays? I'm the process of converting a jewelry box for pen storage, and was planning to make and line the trays myself but this could be a much easier alternative... Are there any materials to particularly choose/avoid?

Nice job, though, with the pen trays, and perhaps a bit lucky that they fit the width of the drawers pretty well. When I put pen trays into an old machinist's tool box, the drawer widths were always off by half a slot's worth, and the tray looks sloppy in the drawer. I had to put in a spacer piece so things fit snugly.

The chest is appropriately titled "Treasure Chest" by Gerstner. I like that it is not primarily intended to be portable -- it has handles on the sides and corner protectors, but no front cover (which I find gets in the way a lot).

It is indeed the “Treasure Chest” in American Cherry. I agree about the lack of a front cover. I do have a matching “1805 Retro” chest for pen repair tools and for other related items. In that case, the front cover and portability are welcome attributes.

It's a Nakaya Piccolo in Chinkin Housoge Kikyo.

Strange, doesn't seem to be on the Nakaya website anymore. I got it at Nagasawa in Osaka last year.

Not my blog post, as mine is a F:

This Platinum 3776 Karakusa Blue is done with Chinkin technique and has similarities.
