What pens are still "Tracking" in the Postal Slowdown

So now the pen that was 200 miles due east from here in Memphis last Sunday, has now traveled as of yesterday (Sunday a week later) 650 miles down to Austin Texas which is 550 miles southwest from here. Still no delivery prediction from the USPS!

I ordered some pen boxes from gopens, tracking starting from CT now in FL. Boxes must need a little sunshine before coming to WI.

Hopefully now, the Postal Service will get quickly back on it's feet after it's downsizing.

Though a long time ago, I tracked a package from Arkansas, to Kansas City, to Miami, to Lexington in only 16 or so days..........I didn't know Germany was in Miami.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Back in the first days of the New year, I ordered a set of "Blue Dew" flex nibs.
Perhaps not the best idea, considering the failures of the USPS recently.
But I did anyway...I thought, lucky me....I purchased the last two available for a while until the maker has a chance to create more...and of course, USPS now has no clue where they are in the shipment process.

I filed a complaint with the USPS that went nowhere...literally, opened and closed a case number within the same hour with the form letter excuse of "COVID has strained operations...." yeah yeah yeah.
With a sad heart, I notified Paypal this morning that I may have to request a refund if the package does not show up within 30 days of shipment from singapore. USPS dropped the ball and did not assign a USPS tracking number to it once it reached US customs.
So even if it is lost or not lost...they have no way to track it down.
Another small package...lost in space. I should have followed my instincts and asked the seller to place it in a larger box just so that it doesn't get lost or buried in transit. :(
Always follow your gut...

Any system is only as strong as the weakest link in the chain...
The USPS is going to contribute greatly to the failure of this economy and the impending depression in the USA.

At this point it's not even about the money...i wanted those nibs. I thought I was lucky enough to grab up the last two available for this year.
Ah well...as usual, my luck stinks.

oh, wow, if this thread were started only a few weeks earlier I would be winner here!

on February 18th 2020 (yes...), I got in contact with Mati pens, in India.

A few emails afterwards discussing my desiderata, on the 20th I ordered a clipless flat top Gama Forever in Green rippled ebonite without rings on the cap. Payment was sent on the 24th, received and I was told I would be informed on progress.

In the meantime, Covid broke out, at least here in Italy...

Nonetheless on 28th of March Mati informed me the pen was almost done.

On April 29th I asked them if all was fine and they were keeping safe...

Same day they replied pen was almost ready waiting for shipping to start.

On 28th of July (!...) they informed me they had done a round ended version and asked whether I would like that.

I replied that no, I would like to have the pen as ordered. They replied hoping to ship first week of August.

I thanked and asked to inform me when actually shipping.

On September 7th I pointed out the wait was becoming very long, and in case they did have any problems I would understand and they could just return my paypal payment...

They replied order was shipping shortly.

I replied I was hoping there would not be another month to wait...

On 12th of October I told them I would like to cancel my order so just please return payment.

Mati replied with tracking number for order shipped!

On 7th of November I informed them nothing had arrived yet. They said it would seem the parcel had left India.

On 23rd November I incredibly received the pen!

The pen is really nice and all in all I told Mati it made up for the long wait.

I sure am glad I had lots of other pens to play with in the meantime...:D

I'm not sure I'll be risking another order with Mati... but who knows

Wow....almost a full year....that's insane.
Definitely makes my wait pale in comparison...though I would have demanded a refund after the first month.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
