Looking for info on a vintage pen brand "majestic". possibly German.

I have a vintage eyedropper pen marked "majestic" with a warranted nib . Barrel end contains the marking "1P".  It looks to be of black hard rubber with a white casing band around the top. top dome is rounded and is screwed in. Although from the surface it looks to be like any ordinary 3rd tier pen, it is very well built and put together. Just wondering if there is any known brand / sub brand "majestic".

Nib is marked as follows :

warranted

     <1>

    14 kt

I haven't attempted pulling nib and feed out. Feed looks to have a small notch on both sides. White ring has some pink/ red paint in its side that gets covered when its screwed in. ring is in fairly good shape without any cracks etc.

There seems to be some white wax on 1P and on "majestic" wording. I'm not sure if this is original or some one putting that later to highlight wording. I bought this as a German pen. Although there is no guarantee that it is.

Any info on the age / origin of this pen, if tracible is greatly appreciated.

Collectable stars site have one with matching wording and nib. Try to find a copy of the book MONTBLANC Collectible Star I 1908-1947 and check.  That would be your best bet. Not saying it is a MONTBLANC but it could be.

There is the American Majestic and tmgpenlover already quoted the link, but in this case it is a Montblanc sub brand as quoted by KandyPenz…

The white band at the cap could be casein although it was the case only on the very early ones…

Ah, thank you Azuniga. Mine is definitely the American company brand. I'm still learning about all the sub brands, past company mergers, etc.

How would Shalitha go about determining whether her band is casein or not?

I am not an expert of it, but one important thing is to avoid the use of water, it is fatal for casein.

It should be looked very close with a magnifying lens, 10X or more... casein has a texture plastic do not have...

I hope it helps since it has helped me more than once.

Thank you all for the advice on how to identify if the ring is casein. Ring is rather small and have some red coloured paint on it. it doesn't look to be plastic but then again i'm not 100% sure . It doesn't have the same feel as normal glossy plastic. Casein also has a recognisable smell to it. but unfortunately this ring is too small to identify that way :(

I believe the red spot came from ink at some point, plastic would not keep it.... and with time casein smell reduces more than Hard Rubber smell.

Thank you both for all the info :)

Red / pink bit looks to be some kind of paste and not ink as such, i'm not sure what it is or what it is for.

There are no traces of it on the hard rubber edge and it is only there in the white insert.

I'm not quite certain. On the nib it says 14 KRT for 14 KARAT, which points to a German pen. I don't think an American nib for the American market would be marked like this, but rather with 585 or 14 CT to denote the gold content. I've regularly seen nibs with that design on German pens.

Check out the Penboard site. This is a pen very similar to yours, with the same pattern, white casein band and similar nib. So as Azuniga already stated, you seem to have a very rare Montblanc subbrand pen. Not too bad 😀

Thank you for the info :) majestic 1M as in penboard site is defiantly a montblanc and is a safety pen.

What i have is majestic 1P. Im not sure if this is something made by another company. mine is an eyedropper.

Nib looks identical in both cases. i'm able to find previous posts about the 1M and also in collectable stars

but i cant find anything on 1P :( . Im hopeing that the M in 1M is not for Montblanc :P. and 1P is make by another company.  fingers crossed :P

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
