This Limited Edition Fountain Pen, called Vesuvio, is named after Monte Vesuvio--Mount Vesuvius--located on the Gulf of Naples, Italy, which is home of the internationally-renowned Maiora Pen Company and its sister Company, Nettuno 1911. The Founder, Nino Marino, has an impeccable reputation for designing and producing high-quality writing instruments. Mount Vesuvius was formed as a result of the collision of two tectonic plates, and likewise, Maiora's Vesuvio LE is formed by the special blending of orange, black, and gold resin on a semi-translucent body, creating an exquisite effect. A solid, 18kt gold nib augments the pen's beauty and can be ordered with a choice of nib grades...Extra Fine, Fine, Medium and Broad. This pleasurable nib glides effortlessly across the paper. Only 888 Vesuvio fountain pens were released world-wide. This model, as with all Maiora fountain pens, is assembled by hand. The dual filling system is standard cartridge and converter--both included. The cap is threaded for secure closure--the threads operate flawlessly, and the pure brass clip is polished and gold-plated. I am grateful for the enjoyable writing experience!
