Thanks everyone who worked hard to make this happen! Although fountain pen is but a tiny hobby, it is one that link us all together into this shared human experience.

One suggestion: change the google page that says the site is under-going an update.

Thanks so much for updating the system, it is much more convenient and user friendly!

However, when I submit a classified ad, the system shows error message, then my ad is duplicated by 3 times in the classified system....

We are aware of that, we have contacted the developer. The ad does show, however, and from time to time we do remove the two extra copies. We are workign on a different alternative as well - the version you see now is developed by a different autjhr and completely different to the old Classifieds, even though it looks similar :).

Sorry, which google page? Could you please post a link?

We never added a google page anywhere as far as I know, hence my question.

Thank you very much in advance.

Tickled to see that FPN is back!  As others have said, I never realized how much I depended on it for information and community.  Thanks to everyone who worked on this project!

Well done all of you and thanks for all the hard and what sounds like very frustrating work you've done.  It's great to have this site up and running again - I missed you!

Thanks for your hard work and diligence in getting FPN back up and running.  I have looked, but not logged in until just now.

Not being logged in, I was still able to view user profiles.  Should this be the case?  That anyone looking but not a member should be able to view profiles?

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Thank you so much for your hard work Wim!

I missed FPN, I did take your advice and played with  all of the hobby related items, except repairs.

So wonderful to see FPN friends again!

Obviously, I don't know what I'm talking about.  It's the page that comes up when one types 'fountain pen network in the URL line to bring up a website.

That was fixed yesterday, actually - check CF and MHM for issues and hep finding stuff :).

That should no longer be the case. Unfortunately that is google with the ranking of most viewed pages over the past period :).

It'll disappear from the list altogether with time ....

congrats, the new system is very good. I never managed to get the confirmation email to be sent to my email in the old forums. Most searches for fountain pen end up here so I was old time lurker. Cheers!

Thank you for your work! That was quite an achievement.

I've one little wish all the same: in the former layout, there was a sort of quick link to favourite forums in the right margin. If we could have that again, I'd be happy.

Sorry, if someone talked already about this, I didn't read all the posts.

Let me end by saying thank you once more.

Thanks so much for resurrecting FPN! I really appreciated the almost daily posted updates as well. I was a bit worried the problems were going to be unfixable after the first several days, but the brief progress reports kept my hope alive. So glad FPN is back.

I've put it on my list :). Not sure it still exists, but I can always have a look.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
