Levenger's newest 3x5 card holder holds note cards, but seems designed for using the cards as reminders and not for storage of unused cards.

I am looking for a simple holder for unused. I try and stay clear of Levenger. Have bought a few things over the years and found their service very poor. Take days to answer emails usually requiring several follow ups, hard to get a shipping quote to Australia and their shipping is generally the most expensive of any by a large amount. However, the Levenger products I have are excellent quality.

From what you posted, that's what I figured. I've been using a desktop organizer I got from Staples. It's faux leather, but does the job and looks professional enough for my home office. It has two slots on top wide enough to hold 3x5 cards portrait style and a wide slot in front of those that can hold a Moleskine notebook. It works for me, but you'd already said you want only one slot for cards - no pen or notebook slot.

Thank you for your input - really appreciated. No 1 is very close and would probably suit - but they don't deliver to Australia. I love the uneeda biscuit one too. I wish I could draw as I have a definite style in mind. Nothing seems to come close.

You need a crafty Australian friend.

Heres an Australian pencil box of about the right size: https://www.etsy.com/listing/775194311/pencil-box?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=pencil+holder&ref=sr_gallery-2-7&organic_search_click=1

Maybe that shop could make your custom card holder.

I wish I could draw!!!! Grrrrrrr!!! Maybe someone can pick up on this description. Imagine a base roughly 90mm wide. The length would be similar. On that base is a card holder that is on an angle so the holder is effectively flush at the front and leans back. The base ends in line with the top of the holder, maybe a fraction more so it doesn't tip over. Almost a mini style brochure holder. The holder should be about 100mm high so the cards stick out at least 25mm, or maybe taller but with a half moon style cut out in front to make it easy to pull out a card. See - it is so simple.

I think the "problem" is you want a mass-produced holder for an uncommon item (these days), with a small footprint to boot and still look "executive style". That doesn't make it so simple when there is no business case for a manufacturer to produce it.

Obviously, if you're prepared to pay for someone to custom-make one for you, then you don't need to draw it; just summon a carpenter for a face-to-face meeting and tell him what you want. Or call one up on the phone, pay for the "consultation" or quotation work, and get them to draw the thing up on paper for your approval before starting to make it.

Or just tell the carpenter you want a wider and taller version of this?

Thank you Mr Dreamcrusher! :o I suspect you are correct. Meanwhile I will continue the search. I believe a company is working on something commercially but not sure what that will look like at this stage. For now the pen cup style will do the job. Somewhere out there is just what I am looking for.....................

I wonder if this might work. I realize it’s a whole productivity system that you may not want, but it does hold a card in portrait position (though one at a time) with the others behind it. May be too big of a footprint. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ugmonk/analog-the-simplest-productivity-system

I can't stop buying pens and it scares me.

Thought I would revive this old thread to see if anyone has discovered anything new that will do the job. My make do is working ok but there must be something better.

Let me try and describe my perfect holder. Imagine a pack of 5x3 cards and stand them on the 3” end. All I want is a holder that would enwrap them in a leather style of finish, stained wood or nice plastic. Maybe a slightly larger foot so it doesn’t tip. Maybe a half moon style cut out at the top so it is easy to take up a card. Simple. Wish I could draw as I can see it in my mind. No pen holder or anything else - just 50 to 100 blank cards.

Would a donkey do? :D  The Notejan Horse?

Acrylic?

Most business card holders wouldn't be tall enough, but this might be.  Or this similar one.

This one is an option but the others are too small. Business card holders are generally not suitable. I am still on the search or might now track down and local who can hand make something for me.

Is that so, or was that just rhetoric? Why must there be something better, in the present tense (as opposed to just conceivable today, and waiting for someone to commission/produce it, as you’ve mentioned you “might now” do)? :)

Has anyone suggested a 3d printing service?
